You are visiting the online journal of Carl Camera. Articles on iamacamera.org will be of most interest to Microsoft Web designers and developers, especially those interested in creating standards-compliant sites, as well as others who want to make sure the Microsoft folks get things right.
The purpose of the site is three-fold
- Inform. Share knowledge and experiences with others
- Assist. Provide useful tools or applications to assist others
- Connect. Use technology to humanize; establish relationships with others
The salient topics of the site are
- Creating internet standards-compliant sites with Microsoft technology (ASP.NET, C#, IIS)
- Web standards and best practices (CSS, XHTML, and XSLT)
- Vine Type: the content management system I wrote.
Carl can be contacted through several means listed at the Vine Branches web site.

The image shown at the top of the site is from a photo that hung on the wall of my grandparents home in Ohio. It is a photo of my paternal grandparents, Giuseppe "James" Camera, his wife, Teresa, and their six sons. James is holding the youngest son, Charlie. Based on the fact that Charlie is not yet walking, I estimate this photo was taken in 1926.
The other sons from left to right are Joe, Jack, Pat, Frank, and Jim. As you might have guessed, James and Teresa were immigrants to the United States, and were originally from Reggio di Calabria, Italy.
My father, Frank, was the first son born in the US, and served in the US Navy during World War II.
